In case you didn’t know, “After School” is now called “Expanded Learning”. In the recent past, the California Department of Education along with the California Afterschool Network have created a set of Quality Standards to help after school providers offer high quality programming no matter where they are. By sticking to the continuos quality improvement cycle, programs can assess, plan and improve their programs indefinitely.
To assist in rolling these Quality Standards out to the public, we’ve been enlisted to create videos exemplifying the Quality Standards in action.
We’ve been filming all around California capturing the best in after school expanded learning programs and interviewing their staff and participants. Right now, we’re working on the post-production for Youth Voice and Leadership.
We plan to unveil the first video at the Best Out Of School Time (BOOST) Conference next week along with a teaser video to accompany it. Look out for the videos to drop on our website in the near future.
